Red Mobile by CURE | Is it really worth?

Dec 19

Recently, an all new mobile network was born, Red Mobile which previously called uMobile. Honestly, I was a bit curious with their services before since I never ever heard of having a free Php 100 load which will be topped up unto you or to the user every month for six consecutive month. And so recently they’ve renamed its mobile network identification to Red Mobile which getting it worst.

As for your information, Red Mobile only handles 3G (3rd Generation) signal which means if you have an older phone or something like that you won’t able to use their sim card since your phone can only carry GSM signal which is the traditional signal of most networks. If you compare uMobile which only handles GSM signal I think, it would be fine since the masses (the frequent users) are not that techie with regards to 3G or somehow they don’t even use such services.

Honestly I don’t know how well they did to their marketing and sales strategies. I guess they’re not thinking with regards to the population of 3G phones currently being used here in the Philippines and if ever why such buy smart phones or 3G phones to just something don’t have a lot of subscribers? I know they’re just starting but I think it wont even click to a regular users like me. As for this moment I am staying for my current mobile network which is Sun Cellular and Smart Communication. One thing also I would hate Red Mobile since uMobile they do have incompatibility like interconnecting or sending messages or even making a call to other networks. I know they hired Smart as their network of 3G signal provider but yet still the brand really sucks. Another thing that they should improve if possible or if this project will really boom is their customer services relations.

As per suggestion, I’ve tried using uMobile’s GPRS features which sound to be great and somehow pretty fast, it would be nice just to have or launched a new ISP like as with SmartBro. No wonder Smart have added or renewed their T.V commercial with a blazzing speed (am I stating it right?) to a burst speed of 2mbps to SmartBro USB type devices.

So much for my very long story of uMobile, I think I pretty lost my sim card and that’s the reason why I didn’t get their rebranded sim card (Red Mobile).
