My Sony Ericsson k800i Cybershot
Mar 07
Yeah! Two days ago I got my new phone called Sony Ericsson k800i. It’s non of the latest phone but it’s one of the best phone ever market by Sony Ericsson. They continued to blur the line between cellular phones and dedicated digital cameras with its latest Cyber-shot-branded camera-phone, the K800i, by offering a full photo-taking experience, together with 3G and Bluetooth connectivity. Throw in a Picture Blogging function, FM radio, Web browser and onboard multimedia player, and you’ve a handset that’s almost the ideal companion for those on-the-go. The phone is really equipped by some of the heavy features that is needed by most techy people like me. This phone is somewhat an all around phone, because of the different features that cannot be found on such other competing phones, like Nokia, Motorola, Samsung.
The original firmware and file system version on my phone was based on Casino Royale movie, that’s why this phone is branded as Casino Royale edition, since James Bond used this phone along the movie. All equipped add-ons are based from the movie. From themes, rigntones, wallpapers, add-ons, and etc, is it’s default setting. Yet, there is no such difference between the original edition and this limited special edition of k800i, just the themes, ringtones, and wallpapers.
Since I was a bit techy, I’ve found out that this phone can be modified into another model like k810i, and you may also modify its acoustic driver, camera driver, display driver, and even it’s firmware and filesystem into another cellphone firmware like, S.E. w610 but for k800i, just k810i alone. One of the advantages of modify is that you’ll be out of the original hardware setting, which means you’ll be able to go beyond the default setting as set by the manufacturer. Drivers and firmware and be easily downloaded from the internet on such forums like SE-NSE Forums, Esato, and a lot more forums.
Just this morning, I’ve flashed my Sony Ericsson k800i to k810i. The only difference is that k810i, has this TrackID feature and Photofix.

I have a recommendation for Sony handsets it is a cool add on for it. It’s called i-Citizen and it came out recently. It’s the world’s first 3D world and the k800 works like a charm on it. Its fun to play and you can meet people and chat to them as you might have guessed. They have promotions where they give away PS3’s and Xboxes to people in a place called i-Bid in the app. Its beta release was announced in March 2008 and anyone can give it a try. You can get it from your mobiles browser or your pc by going to http://wap.icitizencommunity.com.
@Callie
thanks for your recommendations. I think S.E. users would really love it!
